Eid Spritz Cookies

Eid Spritz Cookies

These buttery spritz cookies are always on everyone's favorites on Eid. They are just the right size and delicious. They are little bit softer than the original recipe. I use this with piping bag, and make roses or different flowers. If you are using cookie press add an extra ½ cup of flour.

Ingredients

1 cup unsalted softened butter (two sticks)

1 1/2 cups powder sugar

1 tsp pure vanilla extract or 1/2 tsp vanilla bean paste

1 egg + yolk

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/4  tsp salt

1/4 tsp cardamom

You will need a piping bag and the tip of your choice (or a cookie press) and a baking sheet. You can use colored sugar, sprinkles, melted chocolate, (etc.) to decorate and make them more festive for the holidays!

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 F

Sift together the flour, salt, cardamom, and baking powder, then set aside.

Cream together the butter and sugar in large bowl with electric mixer on medium-to-high speed for about 2 minutes or until light and fluffy. Add egg yolks and vanilla extract and mix until well combined. Add the dry ingredients and mix them thoroughly.

Prepare piping set/cookie press. Fill the bag/cookie press with the dough. Press cookies 1 to 2 inches apart. Bake them 8 to 9  minutes or until set but not yet brow.  Transfer them to a wire rack, and let them cool.

Enjoy!
